Upcoming: Virtual Visit to Chernihiv, Ukraine
Do join us on a Virtual Short Visit to Chernihiv, Ukraine on Thursday 23rd March to meet our new Church Planter, Ilya.
Daniel Trusiewicz who heads up the EBF Mission Partnership will give us an introduction to this inspiring programme of Church planting. This will open our hearts and minds to how gifted local people are being used by God in seeing new gospel churches planted in many countries.
Daniel will introduce us to Ilya Vysotskiy, who IBN are supporting as a new Church Planter in Chernihiv since January 2023. Ilya is married to Victoria, and they have 2 boys (3 & 6). Ilya’s father, Vladimir, is a Baptist pastor. Ilya studied in Chernihiv & Kyiv Christian University, and has served as a youth leader in Chernihiv for 10 years. Chernihiv has a population of 300K. This Church Plant mission team has 13 members who are also involved in helping with humanitarian aid and relief to their community. The target group for this new Church Plant are young families. Chernihiv is in Northern Ukraine, 50 miles from Chernobyl. It was occupied by Russian military until 4th April 2022.
We will also be joined by Roman Vecherkowsky who is the Missions Director for the Ukranian Baptist Union. Roman will share some news of what God is doing in these days, despite the atrocities of the war and will also give us a quick update on the situation in Kyiv. Our practical support of Valery in the Kyiv Church Plant ends this month.
Our Zoom call will be our first time to “meet” ILYA. He is looking forward to meeting us and sharing with us what God is doing. ILYA will use an interpreter when speaking with us.
Here are the Zoom details.
