Comfort in Affliction

LSESD / MEBO

February Newsletter

In this issue of Thimar, we will be sharing how as a Church, we are called to share the Gospel with the hurting and afflicted because God wants to comfort their hearts. You will read about an update about Syria post earthquake, an OP-ED about Lebanon's current situation, testimonies from the Christmas Children's Program in Lebanon and Syria, as well as an overview on the enduring legacy of the Bustani-Van Dyck Arabic Bible in Rev. Dr. Ghassan Khalaf's last book launched at a conference. SKILD has brought comfort and joy to the special needs individuals at "Night to Shine" event, especially in the midst of life's hardships.

UPDATE ON SYRIA: THROUGH HIM WHO GIVES US STRENGTH

After the earthquake left thousands dead or injured, MERATH has responded with both spiritual and tangible help on the ground.

OP-ED: CAN LEBANON HANDLE ANOTHER EARTHQUAKE?

The very recent calamitous earthquake that hit Turkey and Syria, left Lebanon reeling with its aftershocks. Yet we continue to pray.

LET THE CHILDREN COME: CHILDREN'S CHRISTMAS PROGRAM IN LEBANON AND SYRIA

During the 27 Christmas programs held in Lebanon and Syria, joy was seen on the faces of children who heard the Gospel and believed.

THE ENDURING LEGACY OF THE BUSTANI-VAN DYCK ARABIC BIBLE

DMAH organized a conference addressing the crucial topic of faithfulness to the most original texts of scripture, based on the late Rev. Dr. Ghassan Khalaf's last book.

Every year, we look forward to "Night to Shine" at SKILD. This year was no exception. Amidst life's challenges, it was necessary that we celebrate individuals with special needs who add value to our communities with their exceptional personalities, remembering their intrinsic worth.
